One of the most entertaining ways to use flags is for parties or celebratory occasions. There are all sorts of flags for these sorts of events and many are available from your local supermarket, craft-store or party shop. You should be able to find something for just about any occasion - whether it's your team making it to the finals, your child celebrating a birthday, or simply having a barbecue in the back yard with your friends.
Perhaps the most popular sort of festive flag is that which is used solely for decoration. Long ropes or strings with small flags hanging from them, known as bunting, is often used to decorate stands or stalls at fairs or markets, and is also popular for backyard parties and weddings. Bunting comes in a variety of sizes and colour ranges and can be purchased from supermarkets, hardware stores and party shops. Other forms of decorative flags - such as the themed party decorations for children which feature popular characters like Barbie, the X-Men or a range of Disney characters - are also incredibly popular.
Another instance in which festive flags are suitable is for ceremonies, festivals or religious occasions. There are a number of cultures which use certain sorts of flags to decorate and celebrate important annual festivals. Politically-orientated events and parades are also occasion to bring out the festive flags - gay pride parades commonly feature rainbow flags, for instance, whilst election announcements and parties use party coloured flags for added effect.
